2016 Membership and Card System is live and some members have already renewed

3. Web Site - Updates: Thank you to all those that helped test and provide feedback on the new system. This helped us refine the new process and system.

5. SDHGPA Elections: Election Voting will open on Dec 17th and close December 31st with Member votes being collected by mailor e-mail form responses from slated nominations. Election Ballot Forms will be sent to Current Full Members as of Dec 17th with voting rights. Each Voting Member may make one submission.

USHPA - Free Flight Forever

USHPA has made a major update to the Free Flight Forever information web page.

There you will find a very detailed breakdown and answers to most all questions that we would have as pilots.

We will be discussing this at our next SDHGPA meeting ( Thursday Dec 17th) as to what all this means to us as local San Diego Pilots.

More will be posted on what we decide to do as a USHPA Chapter in our Meeting Minutes.

The Most Common Question we get at the Local Level is:

Q:	How does this ability to Insure or not Insure ourselves effect us. Couldn't we just fly anyways on Public and private lands?

Pilot Insurance and or Site Insurance has been a major negotiation factor in securing and preserving our ability to Fly at all of our SDHGPA Sites. Carrying and Maintaining Pilot and Site Insurance is in all of our Recreational Use Agreements, Special Use Agreements, and Use Permits.

New SDHGPA Membership Join and Renew

SDHGPA has just completed a major improvement to our Membership Join and Renew process and the system is now live.

Key Features of the New System:

Automated Membership Cards and Parking Passes: Cards are generated and sent with Pilot membership information pre-filled out within minuets of Application submission.

Membership Status is now real time for both Annual Full Members and Visiting Pilots. So Annual and Temporary Memberships can be verified on the spot (providing internet data service is available).

New Member Only website area has individual member log in and self generated passwords (After USHPA verification and account activation)

New to Member Only PW Protected Section: Full Member Roster, Current Membership Card Archive. Both are updated real time.

Gate Codes are Changing

Notice: Gate Codes Will be Changing In Jan 2016

Available in new 2016 Member Only Section after USHPA Verification and new Member Only access account set up.

2016 Gate code for Laguna and Palomar gates is: XXXX

It is best to Join or Renew SDHGPA Membership early so that you will not have a break in your ability to enjoy our sites.

Site Gate Codes are only provided to Annual Members after Membership Verification and may take several weeks to process. If you desire immediate site gate access, Please Fly with current local active Annual Member Pilots for site access and site briefings. Visiting pilots can only gain gate access with a Full Member guide present.
Annual Members will receive a separate email after verification on how to access the Member Only section of the website and receive current gate codes.

Q: Should I just join with a Temporary Visiting Pilot Membership in Nov or Dec?

A: It is always a good idea to Join or Renew with a Full Annual Membership!

New and early and Annual Memberships Renewals submitted in the months of November and December will be rolled over to the following years Annual Membership.
Temporary Visiting Pilots do not receive full membership benefits like gate codes and must fly with a full member for site access at some sites like Palomar.
If you join in Nov or Dec, you will be getting those months free.
It is also a good idea to renew early, so that you do not have a laps in your membership as Gate Codes will be changing in January 2016.

So, you can now Join or Renew your SDHGPA Membership for the 2016 Annual Year.
