SDHGPA in conjunction with the Black Mt Open Space Committee and Friends of Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve will be collaborating on a short flight history documentary to be added to the parks information video series. We are still looking for more good footage (either current or historical) of flying at Little Black, for inclusion in an upcoming film documenting the site’s use for flying activities. C’mon folks – if you’re too old to come to meetings, you’re old enough to have some Super 8’s of flying at LB! | Antonella has been doing a great job of coordinating efforts for this project and finding and sourcing out some good footage like the following Little Black HG video from 1977. But she still needs your help! |
Greg H suggested that we try to coordinate fly-ins and other activities with neighboring clubs, in an effort to generate some cross-support of SoCal flying clubs. Plus, since they have property and we (almost) don’t, this might allow us to set up some sort of handy reserve tossing simulator at another site. I would note that, if we are OK with just having a hanging simulator, Torrey might let us set up something too. In fact, they might go in on the cost of said simulator as well…
Furthermore, the City of San Diego has made it clear that they require a city business license for any commercial activities, including paid instruction, taking place at either of the City’s gliderports – those being Little Black and Torrey Pines.
See something new at launch & the LZs? A big thanks goes out to Dale Keehan for taking the time and special effort to rebuild the windsock poles and installing our new SDHGPA windsocks at Little Black and Horse. SDHGPA will be maintaining these windsocks throughout the year at Palomar, Little Black, and Horse. |
