For most pilots flying the mountains in San Diego, (and this is only Nik's opinion, NOT the official opinion of the SDHGPA) the short weekend course (Wilderness First Aid) is a superb start.
If you're going to get into anything longer than casual site flying, (looking at all you folks who are talking about vol-biv), you should seriously consider getting your WFR (Wilderness First Responder.)
With that said, here are a few links to schools to get you started on your search:
- Ace wraps
- Band aids
- Super glue
- Compact emergency blanket
- Dental floss
- Tourniquet. This link goes to a product similar to what we saw in the course. It is NOT an endorsement, just a way to make it slightly easier for you to start your own search.
