- We need to Text Bill Helliwell with the number of pilots launching from the Upper launch as soon as it is known.
- Also need to Text Bill Helliwell with the number of pilots landing at the Earthquake Valley LZ, the number could be zero.
As soon as it is known how many are going to take off from the upper launch, send a text to Bill Helliwell (his area code is 760, then dial 500 followed by 1265) with the number of pilots. Sorry for the robot avoidance attempt.
Bill will text the park ranger Point of Contact. Also As soon as it is known how many pilots are landing at the Earthquake Valley LZ (the number could be zero) send another text to Bill Helliwell.
Yesterday I met with Norb Ruhmke, Supervising Ranger at Anza Borrego Desert State Park (ABDSP).
The Park policies are changing. It seems that the State of California wants Parks to pay for themselves. The Park is trying to figure out how to do that. A big problem is that entry into the Park can be done anywhere. There are not just a few entry points like many National Parks. Norb did not say what the details are for establishing fees for Park use.
I stated that we do not have events, that pilots are individuals accessing the Park, and the club just serves as a focal point. All we are looking for is permission to fly within 500 feet of Park property. He could not respond to any of this.

Norb requested to know how many pilots take off from ABDSP property (the upper launch) at Kwaaymii Point and how many land at the Earthquake Valley LZ, when it happens. He wants to hear only from [Bill Helliwell].
On a day when pilots are taking off, as soon as it is known how many are going to take off, or have just taken off, send a text to [Bill Helliwell] with the number. He will text Norb. As soon as it is know how many pilots are landing at the Earthquake Vally LZ, the number could be zero, send a text to [Bill Helliwell]
As clarification, no notice needs to be given regarding landing at the club LZ, wash, or Butterfield.
