| SDHGPA will be adding in another weather station this year. This new station will be installed at Little Black / the Black Mountain Open Space Park Glider Port. We have been installing weather stations as the Membership Dues budget allows to get better and true actual wind readings at sites that are under served by existing weather stations. There are other weather stations near Little Black and other sites, but those stations tend to under read or are not true due to not being placed in clean air and prone to rotor conditions. The LB weather station has arrived, and installation is just pending final location approval from the Open Space Rangers. |  The LB WX station will be the ultrasonic sensor type that are installed at Palomar & Laguna locations |
A work party will be announced when we are ready for the installation depending on the location selected and manpower required for that location install.
For this 4th station, we chose the Ultrasonic wind sensor like at Palomar and Laguna for less maintenance and more obscurity due to no moving parts. The rest of the system is similar to the other club stations that are also solar powered and send data over a cellular network connection. Data is then sent to the Holfuy Data hosting site and WEB based data visualization.
